Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do.
I’m a surgeon working in a busy city hospital. My early starts and late finishes mean the need to be juggling lots of balls to prioritise an all-important work-life balance, which for me must include quality time with family and friends and my daily CrossFit training.
Where do you live?
Fig Tree Pocket.
What do you love about your suburb?
My favourite part of Fig Tree Pocket is the serenity. I wake up to the delightful sounds of natural bird wildlife; quiet tree-lined streets, especially jacarandas abound and it is a very family-focused suburb. I think everyone who lives in our street feels privileged to be in this special tiny part of the world.
If you could change one thing about your house what would it be?
I love my home. Essentially I’d change nothing but one day very soon the old girl will need a new lick of paint and I would love for my kids to do a bit more garden-bed weeding.
If money was no object, what would be your perfect home and where?
I’ve travelled a lot and Brisbane is home. I wouldn’t want to live in any other state.
What is the best piece of property advice anyone has ever given you?
Get in early if it’s financially possible. Forced savings will pay off. Opt for a house over a unit and let location be the priority not the frills. Pick the worst house in the best street and not the other way around and then one day you will then own the best house in the best street.
