A quirky two bedder built by a master shipbuilder could see you sleep in style instead of mud at Splendour in the Grass or any other festival or holiday weather thrown at you.
The two bedroom, one bathroom, one car space property is the cheapest home for sale in Byron Bay and part of a complex that includes two swimming pools, a kids water park, tennis courts and barbecue area, about 20 minutes drive from Splendour.

The home is listed at offers between $380,000 and $410,000 and is part of a Discovery Park that allows you to have a permanent home for family and friends.
Agent Jillian Challinor, who listed the property with colleague Bailey Hill of New Directions Online Realty, said it was not the first they’ve sold in the park, with most calls coming from people wanting to use them as investments for short term rentals or Airbnb.
“They are permanent sites only for permanent living, that’s why they’re affordable,” she said. “It could be someone’s holiday home, and friends and family can use them.”
“You can sub-let for periods of time but not more than six months in a year. You can put someone in for six months.”
The property is the cheapest home for sale in the Byron Bay region at the moment.
“Usually the people that buy these can’t afford other bricks and mortar in the area so this is a an affordable option for some.”
“We’ve sold about eight in the Discovery Park,” Ms Challinor said. “One we sold a while back for $140,000 will come back on the market in a few weeks with a renovation. People are starting to see the value of it at half the price of a normal unit in the area.”
The home at 191/399 Ewingsdale Road, Byron Bay, was described as having been “built with all the love only a master craftsman shipbuilder can do”.
It has a craftsman nautical theme with an entry “gangway” with rope handrail, wooden deck, loft with second bedroom, newly installed kitchen with wooden benches, wardrobe for storage, high set curved wooden ceiling, hand crafted wooden stair case, and is surrounded by greenery.
The home is 2.5km from beaches at Byron Bay with no strata, body corporate, stamp duty or legal fees on purchase, Ms Challinor said.
It has a weekly $200 site fee that includes water.
Recent two bedroom sales in Byron Bay include 8/70 Lawson Street that sold for $2.275m,
6/1 Belongil Crescent fetched $1.2m while one bedders at 17/18 Sunrise Boulevard ($620,000) and 50 Parkes Avenue ($1.8m) also sold way above the Discovery Park property.
