Darius Boyd has sold his Paddington investment property for $4.2m.

NRL Broncos and Maroons legend Darius Boyd is smashing it in retirement, flicking his latest project – an inner-city designer build – for $3m more than he picked the site up for.

He’d paid $1.205m for the 606sq m site at 6A Agars Street, Paddington, and then signed on some of Queensland’s most talented in the industry to pull off “pavilion style architectural excellence”.

The resulting five bedroom, four bathroom, triple car garage home – called Vogue – was designed by architect Joe Adsett and built by Graya Construction, with grand proportions and sleek lines throughout. It sold for $4.2m.

The Boyds spared no expense on the home, which was listed as having seamless indoor-outdoor living and entertaining space plus loads of natural light in an area coveted by professionals due to its proximity to the CBD.

The home was listed by Drew Davies of Place Ascot as having a “palatial master suite” with his and hers showers and walk-in robe, a guest suite near the entry and a “breathtaking, designer kitchen with large butler’s pantry”.

Among Boyds other renovation successes is his former home 78 Harding Street in Hendra which he sold for $1.86m in February 2020. The NRL legend had bought the property with his wife Kayla for $810,000 four years earlier and transformed it with the help of a design by Base Architecture and construction by Graya.

A unique designer touch linking to the outdoors.

The Boyds also transformed a one bedroom Broadbeach apartment into a new age tropical paradise for their Gold Coast based – a property they have held onto since paying $500,000 for it in 2018.

It’s unclear as yet if the rugby league giant has sealed his next big project, though it would not be a surprise if he lined up his favourite builders Graya to help him kick it out of the park.
