PROPERTY developers Tom and Emily Dooley have sold their Brisbane riverfront trophy home.

The luxurious, three-level home at 80 Uhlmann St, Hawthorne, went to market late last year via a ‘top offers’ campaign with Sarah Hackett of Place Estate Agents.
Mrs Hackett declined to comment about the sale, except to say it showed demand for riverfront property in Brisbane had never been stronger.

“The incredible levels of demand, combined with 40 per cent fewer listings than the previous five-year average, have created an unprecedented market for sellers,” Mrs Hackett said.
“With riverfront houses only accounting for just 0.28 per cent of sales over the past 10 years, this has gone on to produce some truly record-breaking sales results, as we have seen again here.”

The Dooleys bought the site in 2006 for $3.5m and built the home with its two swimming pools, a built-in library and a 20m waterfront that sees the river wrap around the house on two sides.
“Riverfront land is such a finite resource,” Mrs Dooley told The Courier-Mail. “As builders we can replicate a beautiful new home, but it’s the location that is second to none.

“That really is my favourite feature, we have two river frontages, one along the front and the second with the river wrapping along the side of the property, the river is our neighbour and you feel like you are sitting on the top of the river and you can hear the river lapping below you.”
The five-bedroom house they moved into in 2010 was designed by Brisbane architect Shane Plazibat.
The property has two swimming pools.
The Dooleys are behind such blue-chip residential developments as Aquila, Pietra and Argyle at New Farm.
Tom is the son of Dr Tom Dooley Sr, who owned the famous Dooleys Hotel in Fortitude Valley.
