Karmichael and Emma Hunt and their children Halo, 9, Bodhi, 7, Gigi, 8 and Lennox, 1 have sold their home in Hendra.
Triple rugby code star Karmichael Hunt has sold his family home in Queensland after being made an offer he couldn’t refuse ahead of auction.
The ex Brisbane Bronco, Gold Coast Sun and QLD Reds player listed the ‘perfect family home’ for sale via auction after relocating to cut down on school run times for his daughters.
28 Newmarket Street, Hendra, sold before its scheduled weekend auction.
The hone is a mix if traditional and modern elements.
Ray White Ascot sales agent Leigh Kortlang sold the Hendra home ahead of Saturday’s scheduled action for $3.25m to a Sydney buyer.
“There was a huge amount of interest,” she said. “It was a Sydney buyer who secured it prior to going to auction.”
“The Hunts are both delighted. It is a good price and a sign that the market is still quite strong. There’s still plenty of activity. The strength of the offers are really good. It’s just amazing how much value southern buyers see in our properties.”
Large fenced backyard for children and pets to play in.
The kitchen is in the modern extension put in before the Hunts bought the property.
The price is $1.37m more than the $1.88m price that the Hunts paid for the home in September 2014.
Hunt had said earlier that the five bedroom home was the first that he and wife Emma had bought after moving back to Brisbane from the Gold Coast.
“It’s been the perfect family home for us as we have three daughters and a baby boy who has completed our family,” the USQ psychology graduate said.
Classic touches remain.
“It’s a family home, a big Queenslander with a modern extension and it’s open plan which is perfect for raising kids – we can see them all the time.”
“It’s also a very private house too, and the location close to everything, loved it except our girls’ school which is on the other side of the river, so we are moving.”
