Multiple offers for renovators delights in QLD’s red-hot markets

A Queensland “renovator’s dream” has sold within three days after 150 inspections in 72 hours and 10 written offers.

The “completely original” house at Point Vernon on the Fraser Coast was Queensland’s most viewed listing over the past week, and was snapped up by a buyer moving from the bush to the beach.

Core Logic property data showed the property last sold for $3750 back in 1977.

Ray Edwards Real Estate principal Fleur Keys said she was not surprised that the listing came in at number one.

She said there were offers from multiple buyers, including several from the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

“It was listed for offers over $385,000 and well exceeded that,” she said.

“We had to close the offers off earlier than planned because there were so many of them.”

Ms Keys said the owners had lived in the house before renting it to the same tenant for over 25 years.

The new owner, she said, planned to renovate the house and move in.

The Point Vernon property has five bedrooms and sits on a 1095sq m block close the esplanade, and even has “some seas views from the veranda”.

Features include a wraparound veranda, a large rumpus room with a built-in bar and plenty of space for a pool table, a large upstairs living room, a huge backyard and a 3-bay, lockup shed.

Iain Simms if Henzells Agency said the property was listed a week ago, and there were 45 inspections last Saturday alone.

“There are 11 offers, five of which were over $750,000,” he said.

“It is now under offer pending finance approval.”

The “true renovator’s delight” has three bedrooms, one bathroom and space for two cars under the house.

The kitchen features lime green cabinets, a green splashback and what appears to be the original curved breakfast bar and hutch.
