Queensland jockey Skye Bogenhuber is cashing in as post-race life beckons, selling her Toowoomba home with stables last week, one year after flicking another four bedder in the area.

The four bedroom home – which sits on a two acre block in Glenvale perfect for subdividing – sold for $845,000 a week ago, over $100,000 more than she and her partner, Newcastle track manager Chris Nation, paid five years ago.

The back of the home has an entertainment space that looks out towards stables and a small paddock.

It’s the second property the couple has sold within a year, according to CoreLogic records, taking a $20,000 hit last October when they flicked another four bedroom home in Westbrook, Toowoomba for $430,000.

Ms Bogenhuber also has a third property in Westbrook – bought over a decade ago – that she had tried to sell for offers around the $449,000 mark in February, but still holds.

The home is ready for a renovation.

The entire property is two acres big.

After bouncing back from a horrific accident, Ms Bogenhuber signed up to study to become a specialist nurse, a passion she has managed to balance within her hectic racing and training schedule.

Built in 1990 the massive two storey home is ready for a renovation, with loads of space including the main bedroom downstairs with ensuite and walk in robe, three bedrooms upstairs, and an office.

The entire backyard is all about horses.

”This home is begging for an owner to add their finishing touches and have a very grand residence,” was how agent Kent Woodford of Ray White Highfields – Toowoomba Range described it.

“Besides the subdivide and profit option it is an ideal horse lifestyle property with two stables, day yard, double storage shed all with the convenience of city living. Blocks of this size and potential are becoming very hard to find.”

A call for expressions of interest in the property closed October 1, with the sale listed as October 14.
