This property at 24 Box St, Buderim, sold for $17.1m.

THE record sale price for a property in the Sunshine Coast suburb of Buderim has been revealed, with Malumba Estate fetching $17 million — a significant discount on the $21 million it had been listed for.

Queensland philanthropists have been revealed as the buyers of the property at 24 Box Street, which comes with approved development plans for a $100 million five-star resort and spa.

This Buderim estate comes with its own heli-lawn, recording studio and development approval for a five-star resort and spa.

Land title records reveal Alex Sekler paid $17.1 million for the 4ha estate with a four-bedroom Hamptons-style mansion.

Next Property Group’s Melissa Schembri marketed the home on behalf of its previous owners Heidi Meyer and Kim Carroll, who paid just $2.3 million for the property in 2014.

Malumba Estate is only 8 minutes from Mooloolaba Beach and has 180 degree views.

Ms Schembri said the sale was the highest recorded price for a residential home in the local government area.

Interestingly, the property was offered ‘walk in – walk out’ with all furniture and accessories included — even the baby grand piano.

This property at 24 Box St, Buderim, was listed for $21 million, but ended up selling for $17.1m — still a record high sale price for the LGA.

The house has been fully refurbished but retains traditional features such as oak parquetry flooring, high ceilings, ornate cornices, French doors and a grand fireplace.

Multiple living areas lead onto a wraparound deck, three of the bedrooms incorporate marble ensuites, there’s also a large office and upstairs is a self-contained guest suite.

Check out the hinterland views from the circular bathtub.

Outdoors, there is a north facing mineralised pool and terrace, as well as a spring fed dam.

Property records show Mr Sekler also owns a home in Kewarra Beach, Cairns, which he bought for $4.5 million in 2014.

The kitchen is very Hamptons style.
