Panama-born hospitality brand Selina is launching its third property in Australia’s River City, with the opening of Selina Brisbane at 466 George Street in the CBD.
“Brisbane is quickly becoming one of the coolest cities in Australia,” said Selina’s Destination Director for Australia and New Zealand, Dean Leibowitz.
“There’s a bustling community of underground artists, musicians and creatives that are really starting to shape and define a unique Brissy approach to life.”
The hotel encourages guests to connect with one another through a variety of communal spaces including a fully-equipped shared kitchen, on-site cafe-turn-bar and nightspot HOWM, outdoor cinema terrace and library nook.
Through a partnership the Storeroom Vintage, rare and authentic vintage items from around the world are featured throughout the property.
“Feedback from guests staying at Selina properties around the globe (and now Australia) indicate the modern-day employee favours remote working,” said Selina’s Managing Partner for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Gadi Hassin.
“We expect this trend will continue to rise – especially amongst Millennial and Gen Z travellers – and we’re proud to be responding to this by offering Australians a holistic lifestyle product that will help them achieve the work-life balance they desire.”
Selina’s properties are designed to serve as cultural hubs in the cities that they have a presence, and with the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Paralympics Olympics on the horizon, the property is expected to benefit from nearby events.
“Our hope is to make Selina Brisbane a reflection of Brisbane’s laidback and genuine way of life – a cultural hub that authentically embodies the characteristics and livelihood of the local community,” Leibowitz said.
The launch of Selina Brisbane follows the brand’s Australia debut in May, when two properties opened in Melbourne’s CBD and St Kilda.
Selina’s global portfolio comprises 155 open or secured locations across 25 countries.
