One of the “most unique parcels of oceanfront land” in Queensland has sold sight unseen to a Sydney buyer for a relative bargain.
Located at Cape Gloucester, the property was described as one of the best oceanfront parcels of land “not only in Queensland but Australia and even the world”.

“This property is so unique … 148 acres scattered with coconut palms throughout, over 1km of pristine beachfront white sand, turquoise waters surrounding you from east to the south to beautiful sunsets in the west,” the listing said.
“The variety of fishing here is just amazing … imagine marlin fishing off the Whitsunday coast and game fishing directly off your own private property.”
Located close to Hideaway Bay, the “blank canvas” property is also about 25 minutes from the tourist mecca of Airlie Beach.
“It`s not uncommon for the business elite to acquire these private sanctuaries where they can create their own secure estate possibly having their super yachts moored directly out the front of the property,” the listing said.
“Picture yourself in a helicopter flying into your own into your own private pad and the relaxation begins immediately.”
Ray White Whitsunday agent Fiona Donnellan refused to reveal the sales price, but a nearby mansion on 75 acres sold for $5 million back in 2018, and a 13 hectare block sold for $4.1 million in February this year.
Ms Donnellan said the 148 acre property sold for “close to asking price”.
“The buyer is based in Sydney and hasn’t yet decided what he will do with it,” Ms Donnellan said, with the buyer purchasing the property via a buyers agent, sight unseen.
While the exact sales price is unknown, the tropical oasis is rumoured to have sold for between $5 million and $6 million – a steal when compared to the prices being paid for beachfront blocks in the southeast corner and interstate.
In June, a beach house on a 2015sq m block on the Sunshine Coast sold for a record $34 million.
Located at Sunshine Beach, the property was widely rumoured to have been snapped up by mining billionaire, Gina Rinehart.
And a penthouse at Surfers Paradise sold for $15.25 million earlier this year.
